Last year, from the evening of June 22 to early morning of June 23, one of the most devastating typhoons hit the Philipines. Hardest struck were the provinces of Iloilo, Aklan, and Romblon in the Visayas. As soon as word of the devastation reached the Intercessors for the Philippines office on June 23, IFP passed the message for prayer and sent a small amount to our Iloilo Coordinator Ptr. Boy Padlan. As reports of the devastation came in over the next few days, everyone was quite shocked at the damage typhoon "Frank" brought about in the Visayas. |

In the ensuing days after the typhoon, IFP, together with its partners that form Sagip Bansa, launched a relief initiative to help the victims of typhoon "Frank" in the region. Dubbed the Sagip Bansa Relief Initiative, it was formally launched on June 27, 2998 and was the highlight of the Sagip Bansa Inter-City Prayer Gathering held on that same date. |

The Relief Program is divided into three phases:
- Phase One (Relief Stage) - Aklan / Iloilo Relief Operation [May - June 2008]. Distribution of aid to the communities affected by "Frank." It's initial recipient were families in Iloilo; after a week the relief initiative shifted to Aklan.
- Phase Two (Rehabilitation Stage) - Adopt A Mobo Child Project [June 2008 - April 2009]. At this stage of the program, 185 school children from Mobo (and their families) became a part of the assistance program to help rehabilitate their community. One of the aims of this stage in the program is to help the children return to school, rebiuld their school and other facilities, provide medical aid, and feed the children. The children who were part of this phase successfully graduated from their respective grade levels last March 29, 2009.
- Phase Three (Community Development Stage) - Mobo Community Development Program [May 2009 - April 2010]. As we continue to work hand in hand for the development of Barangay Mobo, IFP-Sagip Bansa, in cooperation with the Mobo Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association, launched the "Search for a Model Mobo Home" project aimed at promoting healthy living and responsible community stakeholder relations among the residents of Barangay Mobo, in Kalibo, Aklan.
Thirty students coming from different grade levels participated in the Model Mobo Home Poster Making contest. The posters portrayed their concept of an ideal Mobo home. Mr. Harley Sabido, the school head; Hon. Cesar S. Goopio, Jr., barangay council member; and Ptr. Jun Antonio of the New Assembly of God Church were the panel of judges who selected the best poster. The judging of the artworks was not easy. They spent time interpreting every detail, giving the participants a broader idea of what a model Mobo home is.
The winning piece was made into stickers that will serve as logo of the "Search for Mobo Home."
