Year 2010, our Jubilee of Jubilees! Last March 2009, the Lord unveiled to us the revelation of our 490th year counting from the time we were discovered by Ferdinand Magellan last March 16, 1521 and the cross, the symbol of Christianity, was planted on our shores. With the prophetic parallel spoken of in Daniel 9:24 outlining the six redemptive events which the Lord has proclaimed upon His people and Jerusalem, there has been an intense stirring up the faith of intercessors as we sense an unfolding of a new spiritual season for the Philippines where the Lord will finish and terminate the long seasons of deterioration, moral decay and misery of our people and give birth to a new season of repentance, righteousness, revival and restoration!
With a great spiritual momentum gaining ground throughout the whole Body of Christ all over the nation, the Intercessors for the Philippines (IFP) has taken heed to the specific direction of the Lord spoken through His servant, Bro. Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj during the last 20th National Prayer Gathering in Cebu City to call for the 21 days fast for the whole Body of Christ and a 40 day fast for me. The IFP Board and the CLSF National Elders were led by the Lord to join me and for this extended fast throughout the Christmas season culminating by end of the year 2009 welcoming the Jubilee year 2010!
After successfully completing this specific call to fast last year, the Lord has once again led me and the entire leadership of the IFP to call for another long fast, this time, a 50-day fast which we call the Jubilee fast. This Jubilee fast was launched last Friday evening, Jan 22, at CLSF Main Sanctuary and lasted till past 12 midnight in an overnight prayer and intercessory meeting. Churches from all Metro Manila came in droves as the whole sanctuary was filled with people. The presence of God came down as we worshipped the Lord and I gave the stirring challenge of taking hold of the “Kairos” time in the nation. Waves upon waves of prayers and intercessions filled the CLSF sanctuary for the whole duration of the prayer gathering. Intercessors cried out to the Lord for forgiveness and mercy patterned after the supplication of the prophet Daniel in Dan 9:1-19. Over and over we cried out to God: “Oh Lord hear, Oh Lord forgive, Oh Lord act!” The “shofar” was blown and the first 50-day Jubilee fast was launched!
I would like to encourage all the God- fearing and nation- loving brethren to join the Jubilee fast and usher in the shift of the spiritual season for the nation as the Lord had mercifully revealed to us! Let us sacrifice to miss a meal or two every day for the next fifty days, humbling ourselves before God and pray for His mercy upon our land and people. Our set time for God’s mercy and favor has come (Psalm 102:13)!
